Quiet time...
I kept Sammy home from school today, he's been really grumpy and miserable the past few days and I got the feeling he was getting overtired. Time for a day off. We didn't do much. He would NOT have a nap, so I'm not sure what I achieved, but anyway.
We did go to the local community op-shop and got some bargains. Every six months they have a big sale as they are about to rotate their stock - summer to winter and vice versa. They have it half price for a week, and then they have a bag sale - all the clothes you can put into a bag for $1. They also included books, so I got a couple of nice shirts for Tyson, too big for him now, but they will go away nicely, a pair of casual pants for me, and a stack of picture books. They were all gorgeously illustrated and in such good condition.
Also added to the pile was a little treasure of my own. Watchers of You've got Mail, and ppl who grew up in a library like me, would know the "Shoes" series, starting with the gorgeous Ballet shoes, with the Fossil girls, Pauline, Petrovka and Posy. Well, they had a 1937 hardback, in very good condition. That went into the bag too. Not necessarily a collectors piece or anything, but a treasure for me at any rate. I've already read the whole thing today... :) of course!
Also a good email day. Got a couple more layouts accepted, and am finalising some paperwork for some other submissions etc. Now I'm just eagerly awaiting the release of the new DMM magazine, as I've got one in there, and I think Amy has one too!
It's going to be a good week. Or else!!

You have had some fun ... I love old books ... who knows, you might even find something you can scan, nice old papers and the like. Glad you enjoyed your 'quiet' day with the boy! :)
It sounds like you had a great day. And yes, it WILL be a good week this week! I've even got a new kit for you to play with. I am seriously on the edge of my seat waiting for DMM - I swear it was supposed to be out a week ago! Sending lots of hugs to the other side of the world for you. :)
Ohh sounds like some great old finds there Cassie - wahoo on the subs and I'll keep a look out for you in DMM!! :)
Oh Cassie, lucky you, Ballet Shoes was one of my favourite books. BTW I also love your `Irresistable' LO. A stunning photo and the LO is just perfect :)
sounds like a great shopping day! How fun! Have a great weekend Cass!
Cass you surely got some bargains. I think I need to come shopping with you!!
I bet even though Sammy didn't have a sleep, he enjoyed the time at home with Mum and not having to keep up with all the others at school, so I think you probably achieved a lot by keeping him home with you :-)
